The conference programme is preliminary.

Earth Sciences: Addressing Natural and Technogenic Hazards

The section focuses on:

geological structure of the Earth's crust and multiscale structural features;
stages and phases in the evolution of the Earth's crust and upper mantle;
composition of geological media and materials;
exploration and forecasting of mineral resources.

Ocean Dynamics and Climate Change

The section focuses on:

fluxes of matter and energy in the hydrosphere;
tsunami generation and tsunami hazard assessment;
modeling and forecasting of marine hazards;
geological and geomorphological aspects of coastal development.

Living Systems and the Geological Environment

The section focuses on:

impacts of natural and anthropogenic factors on organisms and ecosystems;
adaptive strategies of living organisms;
biodiversity and biological invasions;
ecosystem assessment using remote sensing data.

A Step into Science: Technology and Practice

The section focuses on:

engineering projects and prototypes for monitoring natural processes;
digital methods for analyzing geophysical and geoenvironmental data;
modeling of natural hazards and their impacts;
interdisciplinary student research projects.

By the start of the conference, a volume of abstracts will be published in the authors’ original wording. Selected papers, as determined by the Organizing Committee, will be published in the journal of IMGG FEB RAS “Geosystems of Transition Zones” (White List 2lvl; included in the official list of the Higher Attestation Commission).

Registration for the conference has closed. Information on further organizational matters will be sent to registered participants by email.

Conference Fee and Participant Documents

To complete the participation arrangements and payment of the conference fee, registered participants are required to fill in the appropriate agreement and the participant consent forms.

Please select the agreement depending on who will pay the conference fee. The participant consent forms must be completed in both cases.

Payment Procedure

The conference fee must be paid only against an invoice. The invoice will be sent to the participant by email after the Organizing Committee receives the completed applicable agreement and participant consent forms.

The registration fee includes

conference participant materials;
coffee breaks during the conference sessions.

Accommodation, Transportation, and Program

Accommodation

Recommended hotels in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (located near public transportation routes): Lenina Hotel, Moneron, Lotos, Panorama, Komandor, Yubileynaya.

Transportation

The Institute of Marine Geology and Geophysics can be reached by bus routes 10, 62, 71, 21. Bus stop — “Institute of Marine Geology and Geophysics” .

Conference Program

The program will be distributed to participants together with the Third Announcement and will also be published on the conference website.

Excursions will be organized for conference participants, including a visit to the Botanical Garden and geological field trips to Vzmorye or Lyagushka (Frog) Rock, as well as the “Small Pearl of Sakhalin” route: Nevelsk–Kholmsk. Detailed information on the procedure and conditions for participation in the excursion program will be provided in the Third Circular.
